What To Do With Broken Tail Lights

The overall structure of the car is domineering or slender, and the car headlights are definitely the finishing touch. Headlights are naturally exquisite, but drivers always see all kinds of tail lights on the road. We all know that the tail lights are constantly changing according to the direction of the car. The control circuit of automobile tail lights (automobile control system) is closely related to the change of automobile tail lamps. Every part of the car is important, and once damaged, it can do harm to us. Today, I'd like to introduce you to why the tail light of the car is not on. It may be that the tail light is broken. The reasons might be as follows:

  1. The voltage regulator has faults and the voltage is too high;
  2. The contact of the battery conductor is poor, which causes the no-load voltage of the generator to be too high;
  3. There is a short circuit between the generator armature and the magnetic field coil.

What If Your Tail Lights Not Work

If the tail light bulb burns out immediately when the lamp switch is turned on, check for a short circuit between the charging lines. If you often burn out the light bulb, check whether the generator voltage regulator voltage is too high. Compared with headlights, the electronic and optical parts of tail lights are not too complex, so it is easier to buy high-quality products, and rear lamps do not need to withstand the wind and rain as much as headlamps, so they are less prone to water vapor problems.

Check The Fuse Of Tail lights

A blown fuse usually causes two indicator lights to go out. In new cars, however, the taillights can melt separately. Check your user manual to determine the location of the fuse box in the car. In most new cars, it's under the hood or on the dashboard. The manual will have a picture of a fuse box showing where the fuse is

First, turn off the ignition switch, remove the fuse box cover, and find the tail light fuse. Check the fuse to see if it fuses. If the metal in the tail lamp fuse is intact, it's not the fuse.

If the wire looks broken or strange, it is the fuse that needs to be replaced. Take out the fuse with your fingers or tweezers. Use the search engine to find out what model it is, and then buy one.

Look At Your Tail light Wiring

If it's not the fuse, open the trunk and see the wiring to the tail light. You should be able to see where the wire should be connected, use your hands to properly fiddle, see if there is loosening, and if the wire is loose, reconnect yourself.

Check Your Rear lights

If all of the above is fine, there may be something wrong with the bulb itself. Unscrew the faulty bulb of the tail light and check the filament inside to see if it is still in good condition. You can check if the filament is moving or vibrating by tapping the bulb with your hand. If the taillight bulb burns out, buy the same model and replace it.

If the bulb is good, your car may have deeper electrical problems. When removing the bulb for replacement, check if the socket has burnt contacts, the tail lights might have burnt contacts or fuse seat boards, which is not easy to solve. Then you’d better go to the 4s store.

The Difference Between Brake Lights And Tail Lights

In most vehicles, the brake and tail lights are located on the same sphere. In other words, the same exterior is covered on both lights. Your car may be a little unique, with a separate hood. The taillight lights up when you turn on the headlights or park the brakes, and the brake light lights up immediately when you use your foot to brake. In most vehicles, the taillights are red and the brake lights are brighter red. The tail light also includes the reverse light, which is white.

Test Your Tail Lights

It is very important that all vehicle owners check to make sure that every exterior light is working periodically. The easiest way to get this job done is to have a friend or family member stand outside of your car while you turn on the lights and have them let you know if they are all in good order.

To test your brake lights and tail lights, get in your vehicle and turn on the ignition switch. You do not have to actually crank your engine. First, check your tail lights by turning on your headlights. If working properly, they will come on simultaneously and glow red. Next, tap your brakes and have your partner verify that the brake light bulb is shining significantly brighter than your normal tail lights. If a light is not working, you may need to have the bulb changed.

Regular Maintenance Of Your Vehicle

To keep your vehicle in good working order, you should follow a regular maintenance schedule that includes checking the brake and tail lights. Never underestimate the importance of your car’s tail lights!
